Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, better called Ari Lennox, is an American artist and performer born in Washington, D.C., who was the first female to join J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. The first album she released for the label on Oct. 21 2016 with the title Pho. It was then that she gained recognition. Shea Butter Baby her debut studio album came out on May 7th 2019. Ari Lennox first released her music on the internet in 2012. The singer released her debut album Ariography and her mixtape debut in 2013 the mixtape Five Finger Discount. In 2014, she dropped additional music on the internet including Bound. She appeared in Omen's Elephant Eyes as well as in Sweat It Out July 21st the 21st of July, 2015. J. Cole was interested in her talent and wanted to use it in conjunction with Rihanna. She officially was signed with Dreamville Records on 8 December. The album Revenge of the Dreamers II, she appeared on the track Backseat with Cozz. She released Pho, her debut EP, on the 21st of October in 2016. Ari Lennox was a guest on J. Cole's Change, and she performed in the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour as an opening artist. She also appeared in two songs with EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song and Bas's Icarus. Ari Lennox debuted her first single from Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on July 16, 2018, which was released on July 16th, 2018. A music video followed by a music video in September. In November, she dropped her singles forty Shades of Choke & Grampa. In November, 13 the singer released two new singles, titled One and Pdigree. One as well as Pdigree. Shea Butter Baby was released as her first single on February 26, 2019 to accompany the album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby performed alongside Cole as part of the Creed II sound track on the 16th of November. In February 2019, her music video to the song was released. The track has garnered over three million YouTube views within a week. She was one of the support acts for 6LACK in the From East Atlanta With Love Tour in December 2018.
